Tumblr Death Policy: How to Delete Tumblr Account
Tumblr has an easy way to delete an account if you have the login ID and password, and may also provide this information if you do not.
How to Delete Tumblr Account
1. Sign into tumblr.com with username and password
2. Under ‘Account’ tab, click ‘Preferences’
3. In bottom right corner, click ‘Delete your account’ link
4. Confirm password and click ‘Yes, delete my account’
When you close the account, the primary blog will be deleted. The blogger will be removed from any additional blogs they may have, and if they are the only user of the additional blog, the blog will also be deleted. If other users are on the additional blogs, the blogger will be removed from the blog, but the blog will continue on with its remaining users.

If you can provide ID scans, news articles, or obituaries proving that a blogger has died and proving your relationship to them, Tumblr says they can “probably” give you access to the account. Contact them at support@tumblr.com for further information.
