Amazon Death Policy: How to Delete an Amazon Account
Deleting an Amazon account is straightforward, but it is important to cancel any outstanding orders first.
How to Cancel Outstanding Orders
1. Sign in to Amazon.com
2. Click “Your Account” in the upper right corner
3. Click the yellow button labeled “Your Orders”
4. If any orders are listed as outstanding, cancel these.
Once you have done this, you need to contact Amazon via email to close the account.
How to Delete Amazon Account
Amazon does not have a direct email address you will be able to contact them at. However, on the website they have a customer service automated email. They ask that you send an email this way to request cancellation of the account. You access this page by:
1. Go onto Amazon.com (login is not necessary)
2. In upper right corner, click “Help”
3. On right side of the page, click the yellow button labeled “Contact Us”
4. At this point you can sign in or you can skip the sign in by clicking the button at the bottom
5. In the message, you must include the email address associated with the account you would like to close. Amazon.com will respond via email and the account will be closed.
