Dropbox Death Policy: How to Delete Dropbox Account

Deleting a Dropbox account of a deceased user is relatively easy. If there are any subscriptions currently being charged, these must be downgraded to the free service the website offers, and then the account can be deleted. To Cancel a Subscription

1. Log into Dropbox website

2. Click on the ‘Upgrade’ link at the top of any Dropbox page

3. Select the plan you would like to downgrade your account to by clicking ‘Change Billing Period’

4. Click the ‘Downgrade to a Free Account’ link at the bottom of the page

This will ensure that the deceased user will no longer be charged for any services.

To Delete a Dropbox Account

1. Log into Dropbox website, if you haven’t already

2. Click on the ‘Account’ link at the top of any page

3. Select the ‘Account Settings’ tab

4. Click on ‘Delete My Account’

5. Fill out the form as to why you are deleting the account and the password, and click ‘Delete My Account’
